ASAP Cincinnati: Intensive Outpatient Programs
for Teens & Young Adults

Bridging the Gap in Behavioral Health Care
ASAP Cincinnati provides CARF-accredited intensive outpatient programs (IOP) that fill a critical need in the continuum of care for adolescents and young adults. Our evidence-based programs are well suited to serve clients who need a bit more help than traditional weekly psychotherapy. They also work well as step down treatment from hospitalization, partial hospitalization (PHP), or residential treatment when clients are ready to transition back to community-based care.
Serving ages 12-26 | Family-focused treatment | Flexible scheduling | Most major insurance accepted
Referring to ASAP Cincinnati
When a teen or young adult client is facing a transition in level of care, we know you want to ensure a good fit and a warm hand off. We have clients who are transitioning from weekly individual treatment as well as those returning home after a residential, in-patient, or partial hospitalization stay, and ASAP is uniquely positioned to help clients and families feel cared for. As a family owned and operated facility, we make care choices that are right for each client and their support system.
How Can ASAP Cincinnati Help?
The Right Level of Care at the Right Time
Many families struggle to find the right level of care for the teens and young adults in their lives. Providers know this as well – having to manage complex cases with only a single appointment per week and sometimes less. ASAP is well suited to assist in these situations. Our intensive outpatient programs provide:
- 9 hours per week of structured group therapy with individual sessions as needed
- Evidence-based treatment modalities including CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and relapse prevention
- Family integration to create sustainable change beyond the treatment setting
- Rapid access to care – typically within 72 hours of initial contact
- Coordination with referring providers to ensure continuity of care
- Measurable outcomes – 88% of clients report significant symptom reduction within 10 weeks
When Clients Need More Than Weekly Therapy
Signs Your Client May Benefit from IOP:
For Substance Use (TRIP or PIVOT):
- Continued substance use despite outpatient treatment
- Multiple relapses or inability to maintain abstinence
- Substance use causing significant impairment in functioning

For Mental Health (Clarity Intensive):
- Self-harm behaviors or suicidal ideation requiring intensive intervention

Teen Substance Use Program
The TRIP Intensive Outpatient Program was developed to meet the needs of the substance using teenager and has been created in accordance with ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) treatment guidelines and evidence-based interventions. Teens spend time in treatment groups working to identify the scope of their use, how it has become problematic, and how to establish a life in recovery.

Recovery for Young Adults
PIVOT is an evidence-based program designed to help young adults (ages 18-26) with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health challenges. Clients participate in group therapy sessions to learn recovery skills that help them build a life in recovery while remaining in their community. The program covers comprehensive treatment areas including: psychoeducation (understanding addiction and recovery), skills training (coping and life management skills), relapse prevention (identifying triggers and developing prevention strategies), 12-step integration (connecting with recovery community support), and individual therapy (personalized treatment planning and support).

DBT for Teens
Clarity Intensive is an evidence-based DBT program designed to help those with disruptive emotional and behavioral disorders. Clients will participate in group skills training to learn behavioral skills that can help them cope with challenges. Skills training for adolescents covers five modules: mindfulness (skills for focus, relaxation), distress tolerance (coping in times of crisis), interpersonal effectiveness (skills for interacting with others), walking the middle path (seeing things in multiple ways), and emotion regulation (skills for managing intense emotions).
