Giovanna Marin, M.A.

PSYCHOLOGY PRACTICUM STUDENT

Giovanna is a 2023-2024 clinical psychology doctoral level intern and is currently working towards a Doctor of Psychology from Xavier University. After completing her undergraduate work at the University of Georgia, Giovanna taught 7th and 8th grade at a dual language magnet school in Atlanta. This is where she found her passion for working with adolescents and their families. Giovanna realized that teaching was not her final career goal and moved to Cincinnati to pursue her doctoral degree in clinical psychology with a focus on adolescents. Attainment of her Doctor of Psychology will ultimately allow Giovanna to continue to work with teens and allow her to follow her passion. She is especially inspired to reduce the stigma of mental health in diverse and disadvantaged communities.

In her spare time, Giovanna enjoys playing video games, exploring parks around Cincinnati, cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs, and spending time with her family.
